Meet the Doulas Events

Ithaca Doula Collective (IDC) hosts “Meet the Doulas” events throughout the year around the Ithaca area. Meet the Doulas is casual, welcoming space where you can get to know some of IDC’s members, learn about birth, postpartum, and full spectrum support, and ask questions!

​Here is why this event is so great:

  • You can come and learn what a doula is and what we can do for you!

  • You get to meet a whole bunch of awesome doulas at once, which saves you lots of time by not having so many individual interviews.

    • That said, we are happy to also to set up a time to meet individually to see if we would be a good fit.

  • We love to listen to your needs and answer any questions you have about your pregnancy, birth options, or childbirth education options, or just talk to get to know one another. (Doula is a Greek word that means "women who serve women").

  • It's FREE!! Come for a bit or come for the whole thing!

  • While we all adhere to the same code of ethics, we all have our own unique voice and approach to our practices. Meeting us all at once allows you to see how we are the same and how we are different.

  • We want you to find the right fit! Many people are worried that if they interview more than one doula, they will offend the doulas they don't hire: NOT TRUE! If you don't feel comfortable with our care, we don't want to be there! Really… please hire the right fit. It matters.

  • Sometimes complimentary care providers will pop in to these events as well, which allows you to meet some more great people who are excited to support you in your pregnancy and postpartum period.

  • Sunday, November 8 from 1-2 pm in the community room at Jillian’s Drawers / Mama Goose
